  • I really enjoyed your interview with the leader of the cross Atlantic rowing crew. It especially resonated with me about taking opportunities when they come your way instead of feeling you have to just stay on a dictated path. This is how I have lived my life. Five years into my teaching career I had an opportunity to train in mixed C2 slalom racing. It meant leaving my job mid year and traveling internationally, but I have never regretted a moment of it. That led to competing in kayak polo. The decision never held me back in my career and in fact opened doors. At 59, I am still doing “crazy” things and hope to be the 1st solo woman to complete the Water Tribe event called the Kruger Border Route Challenge (250 miles canoeing/portaging in 8 days) this September. It was wonderful to hear about other tough women taking a chance on adventure. Thank you for profiling them.
