• Spring Has Sprung!

It's already getting nice here in Alaska! We have daylight until 8 p.m. and the mosquitos are starting to fly, which means it's time to go camping!

Today, I have some VERY exciting updates for you!

Look! We Made the Backpacker Gear Review!

Who's pumped? We're pumped! Our packaroons made their very first debut in the Backpacker Gear Review this month! We're pretty proud of our snacks :) Too bad the taste testers didn't get a chance to try our new packaroon recipe, which is now more moist and dense, kind of like cake!

    Come Visit Us This Weekend!

Heather's Choice will be making an appearance at TWO events this weekend! In Alaska, you will see Heather's Choice products at The Great Alaska Sportsman Show. Our seafood processors Art, Joann and Kris Tilgner will be sampling our Smoked Sockeye Salmon Chowder, and will also have blueberry buckwheat breakfast and packaroons for sale. Visit the Tilgner's and introduce yourself to them, they are sweethearts and love to talk fish!

I'll be headed to Missoula this weekend for the Backcountry Hunters and Anglers Rendezvous! I'm really looking forward to meeting and greeting all of our supporters in the hunting community. I'll have lots and lots of Heather's Choice meals, snacks and breakfasts in stock, so swing by our booth Friday and Saturday to stock up for your next big epic! I'll also be on the Women's Panel Saturday at 2 p.m. discussing how to prepare for your own backcountry trip, it's going to be a blast!

Giving Back to Our National Parks

We just returned home after a very long + well deserved vacation. For a month, we floated nearly 300 miles through the heart of the Grand Canyon. Nothing could be better than 30 days of sunshine on a river trip!

Many, many packaroons were eaten on our side hikes through the Grand Canyon :)

After spending that much time in the canyon, I feel pretty compelled to see how we can help to protect our favorite places on earth. If you've ever spent some time enjoying one of your favorite wilderness preserves or National Parks, you can likely relate!

Today, I wanted to share with you one simple way you can help support the preservation of the special mountains, rivers and bays that we all know and love.

Make a Monthly Donation to the National Park Foundation

Over 400 national parks preserve 84 million acres of the world’s most treasured landscapes, ecosystems, and historical sites. Your monthly donation will help the National Park Foundation protect all of these treasured landscapes for generations to come. Simply set up a recurring payment of as little as $10 to ensure that there is a steady stream of money being allocated to projects within the parks you know and love.

Now is a great time to start planning your summer adventures, and make a contribution to help support your favorite wilderness areas.

Thanks so much for being a Heather's Choice supporter! I can't wait to hear all about your upcoming trips this summer and to help make sure you have plenty of healthy, delicious food in your pack :)

    Love,

    Heather

P.S. Thank you to all of our Kickstarter Backers! We will be sending out surveys in April for you to pick out meals + snacks for your rewards, and our new packaging will be here to fill in May! Expect your Heather's Choice care package to arrive in June, just in time for the summer camping season :)
